SLAMABAD: In solidarity with an ongoing shutter down strike against imposition of taxes in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), the s
tudents
of the region residing in major cities across the city held protest demonstrations in front of respective
press clubs.
In Islamabad, a demonstration was held in front
of the National Press Club. Dozens of s
tudents gathered there holding placards and banners with statements against tax imposition. Protesting s
tudents also chanted slogans against the federal and provincial go
vernments. They were also joined by representatives of various opposition parties. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf GB women wing president and former member
of the GB Legislative Assembly, Amina Ansari, joined the protest and addressed the s
tudents.
